You’ve got to admire Jamie Oliver.
The guy had a number 1 best-selling recipe book and TV show by the age of 24, an OBE by the age of 27, and by the age of 30 had been named Britain’s “Most Inspiring Political Figure” thanks to his tireless work in improving the diet of school kids.
In short, he’s one heck of a successful chef.
But let’s not forget what brought Mr Oliver to the dance, so to speak; his food. His recipes are simple, easy to follow, and pack a delicious punch to the taste buds.
I’m a big fan of this guy’s soups, which range from the decadent and creamy, to the delicious-but-low-calorie.
So… Set your blenders to puree, and let’s take a look at my top 5 favourite Jamie Oliver soup recipes.
1 -Jamie's Mexican Tomato Soup
You can’t get more simple than a basic tomato soup.
Basic though it may be, a chunk of crusty bread and a bowl of rich tomato soup is right up with the most comforting meals of all time!
Jamie’s Mexican Tomato Soup is one of my favourites; a welcome-flavoursome twist on the traditional tomato soup that us Brits are used to.
Follow along and make your own (you’ll be seriously glad you did) as Jamie brings “a little bit of sunshine back to Essex”.

2 - Jamie’s Amazing Healthy Black Bean Soup
The great thing about Jamie is that he’s constantly drawing inspiration for his recipes from all over the world, and this time he’s bringing a delicious black bean soup back to Britain all the way from Costa Rica.
According to Jamie, this soup “has got three of your five a day and is packed full of the good stuff”.

3 - Jamie’s English Onion and Leek Soup
We’ve been all around the world so far with Jamie’s soup recommendations and I’m getting a tad homesick.
So, let’s bring things back to good old Britain with a traditional English Onion and Leek soup.
In Jamie's words, "none of this French onion soup malarkey, we're going to go English soup".

4 - Jools' Chunky Vegetable Soup
OK, I’m cheating a little bit here, but I couldn’t resist it because this is simply one of my favourite soup recipes.
This is chunky vegetable soup like you’ve never tasted, and here to show you exactly how it’s done is none other than Jamie Oliver’s wife, Jools.
Don’t worry, says Jools, “my husband loves it (thank god)” and I think you will too. There, I wasn’t really cheating! It is one of Jamie’s favourites! ;-)

5 - Jamie’s Creamy Mushroom Soup
In my book, there’s nothing that can beat a rich, creamy mushroom soup enjoyed on a cold Winter’s Sunday afternoon whilst sitting in your toasty warm lounge, and looking out the window at the rainy, cold, world outside your nest.
Phew... That was a mouthful, and so is this recipe! Yum!
For Jamie, this one is “earth [and] smooth – a classic”.
